Just a suggestion for a site feature :)
For those (addicted)hosts who would like to try to play as fast as possible, it would be cool to have an option to get an email notification when the last player has submitted their turn files.

Not that I'm addicted to SEIV or anything.

No. Not yet. Thought about it.
I can't seem to find a valid download link.
Would the autohost work on my laptop or do I need an actual server somewhere?

The download link is in that article I linked. Unfortunately it seems to be broken at the moment.

If you poke around the parent folder of the download link, you'll probably find a working version there. You can use the autohost script from any windows machine, just needs internet access.

The only working version is version 3. All older versions were compiled against obsolete PBW2 APIs.

Not sure what happened, but I've restarted my web server and its working again now.

If you grab the perl source for the autohost, you can add a function to email or do various things when the turn is processed.

I have mine posting an IRC message on #spaceempires when turns are uploaded.
