Best 5:
1-That every game can be very different just by making subtle choice changes.
2-PvP option for games
3-Space combat
4-The ability and ease of creating mods
5-The wide variety of component and facility options
Worst 5:
1-The constant need for micromanagement
2-The moronic AI in most mods
3-Ground combat
4-The limited scope of vanilla games
5-The limited types of world types/atmospheres

Best
1- Modding options/ease of modding
2- multiplayer
3- open to a certain amount of play-styles/game styles (all out war, econonic develppment, etc)
4- Ship design options
5- amazingly stable for a 23-year old game
Worst
1- fixed "win" options
2- never going to be an SE6
3- no further support from devs
4- turn based combat

I haven't been a part of the community for long, but I might as well chime in
---Best---
1: The level of customizability of your race
2: Many possible strategies and playstyles
3: Variety of items and mod potential
4: The control you have over ships
5: The way you can do turns when you want
---Worst---
1: The "pure violence" strategy usually employed
2: Uncomfortable method of performing certain actions
3: Similar strategies being used over and over
4: People not doing their turns without being threatened with an AI (I'm also guilty -_-)
5: Yea, no SEVI or official updates. I think a new updated game would be pretty cool

BEST
1) Customizable races and playstyles (to some degree)
2) Ability to mod the game in various ways
3) Huge technology tree
4) Customizable ships
5) Epic battles
WORST
1) Turtling/stuck/long drug out games - the game lends itself to this type of game play
2) Repetitive strategies/similar from game to game/often boils down to the strong getting stronger/weak-weaker
3) No continuing support/growing community
4) Micromanagement of empires
5) Fiddly combat - your ships sometimes don't make choices that make sense/little ability to employ smart combat tactics - sometimes combat just malfunctions entirely.
